Changing Approaches in Gaza Aid Distribution
Recent shifts in the delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza have highlighted significant differences in operational strategies. Previously, a United Nations-coordinated effort operated an extensive network of roughly 400 distribution sites spread throughout the Strip, ensuring widespread access to relief for the local population.
In contrast, the current system, managed by a group referred to as the GHF, has consolidated its operations to only four large-scale distribution centers. These centers serve around two million Palestinians in Gaza and are secured by armed private security personnel employed by a US-based company. This move represents a marked departure from the previous, more dispersed method of aid delivery.
