US Halts Weapon Shipments to Ukraine

The U.S. Defense Secretary has taken the controversial step of pausing specific types of arms deliveries to Ukraine. This action, reported by several sources, marks his third independent move of its kind. Similar decisions were made in February and May, but those orders were subsequently reversed within a few days.

Multiple American lawmakers and allied European nations expressed strong objections in response to the latest decision. Despite the criticism, the administration has defended the move. The official explanation pointed to an alleged shortage in the arms inventory. However, analyses conducted by senior military experts did not support the claim of significant shortages.

According to official statements, as of early July, deliveries of certain weapon systems to Ukraine have been suspended. The halted supply includes dozens of advanced air defense units, thousands of artillery shells, more than a hundred precision-guided missiles, and other related armaments. A spokesperson from the State Department affirmed that while military assistance to Ukraine will continue, it will exclude the recently suspended missile systems and air defense equipment.

Experts warn that this decision may have far-reaching strategic consequences for Ukraine. The evolving situation raises questions about the future of U.S.–Ukraine military cooperation and has sparked extensive international debate over its potential impact.
