The previous system, managed by the United Nations, relied on around 400 distribution points throughout the Gaza Strip. This network was designed to reach the diverse needs of the resident population across numerous smaller sites.
A New Model for a Vast Population
In contrast, the current operation by the GHF has established only four large distribution centers for approximately two million Palestinians in Gaza. These major sites are secured by armed private contractors employed by a US firm, marking a significant shift from the former community-based approach.
