Economic Deputy: Afghanistan Achieves Self-Sufficiency in 130 Sectors

Afghanistan Achieves Industrial Self-Sufficiency

The office of the Economic Deputy at the Prime Minister’s office announced that Afghanistan now enjoys complete self-sufficiency in 130 sectors, while an additional 100 sectors have reached a stage of partial independence. Nationwide, around 6,000 industrial factories have generated jobs for 135,000 workers.

These facilities manufacture an extensive range of 570 products—from basic staples like flour and salt to essential items such as oil, medicine, iron, cement, steel, and various chemical products. According to a deputy spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, the production facilities have directly provided employment to tens of thousands while meeting wide-ranging domestic needs.

Economic analysts argue that for the nation to see rapid industrial growth, the government must focus on several key areas. Experts emphasize the need for implementing tariffs on similar imported goods, ensuring a steady supply of energy and raw materials, and boosting export initiatives. One prominent economic specialist noted that governmental support in securing factors such as land, energy, and financing is crucial for attracting further investment and expanding domestic industries.

Another expert highlighted that a more extensive use of locally produced products, along with additional incentives for investors and improved marketing channels for domestic goods—both within the country and internationally—could further strengthen the sector. The government has already taken steps to support industrial development by distributing land, reducing customs duties, curbing smuggling, and hosting trade exhibitions.

Islamic Emirate Rejects Territorial Accusations

In a recent statement, a representative of the Islamic Emirate dismissed allegations claiming that Afghan territory was being misused. “We ask only one thing: do not give space to India’s terrorist proxies – Fitna al-Hind and Fitna al-Khawarij,” the spokesperson asserted, emphasizing the firm stance taken on the issue.

In related international news, Iranian state television reported the solemn funeral of 60 individuals who lost their lives during the conflict, including four women and four children. The memorial honored prominent military commanders and scientists whose deaths were incurred in the ongoing war, underscoring the deep national impact of the conflict.
