Eight Israel Supporters Injured Following Colorado Demonstration

Incident in Colorado

During a scheduled protest in Colorado aimed at drawing attention to hostages in Gaza, a man chanting pro-Palestine slogans injured eight individuals by setting them on fire. The demonstration, which had been held weekly without previous incidents, turned violent after the suspect unleashed a makeshift flamethrower and hurled an incendiary device into the crowd.

Local authorities confirmed that four men and four women, ranging in age from 52 to 88, were taken to hospitals in the Denver metropolitan area. Witness accounts indicate that the assailant shouted phrases such as “Free Palestine” along with other provocative questions and declarations intended to incite anger.

Investigation and Suspect Details

Federal officials, including representatives from the FBI, have described the incident as a targeted act of violence. FBI special agent Mark Michalek stated that the attack is being treated as an act of terrorism, although there is no indication that the suspect was part of a larger organization.

The suspect has been identified as 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman. Authorities report that he, an Egyptian national living in the United States following a visa overstay, was apprehended and taken into custody without incident before being transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn noted that one of the victims was “very seriously injured” and that, at this time, no other individuals are believed to be involved in the attack. The investigation remains active, with federal and local agencies collaborating closely.

Official Reactions and Statements

Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty vowed to ensure the assailant is held fully accountable for his actions. Meanwhile, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that federal investigators are treating the case as a targeted terror attack, with ongoing efforts to gather further details.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the investigation is focused on uncovering the circumstances and motives behind the violent episode.
