Israeli Strike on Gaza Aid Point Kills At Least 30 in Rafah

On June 1, 2025, a targeted Israeli attack near an aid distribution center managed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) resulted in the deaths of at least 30 people in Rafah. Local news agencies and media with ties to Hamas reported that over 115 others were injured during the incident.

There has been no official comment from Israeli authorities regarding the attack. The GHF, which recently began operations in Gaza with Israeli backing, has attracted attention over its screening procedures. Some Palestinians have raised concerns about the foundation’s impartiality due to the biometric and other checks it employs. According to Israeli officials, these measures aim to prevent individuals linked with Hamas from receiving aid.

Earlier on May 28, Hamas accused Israel of killing at least three Palestinians and injuring 46 near another GHF distribution site, an allegation that the aid organization has denied.

The Israeli military also stated that its forces discharged warning shots outside the compound to regain control amid a rush of thousands of Palestinians seeking assistance.

This report reflects consolidated information from various sources in the region.
