PIA Restarts Flights to Gulf States

Passenger Safety Remains the Priority as PIA Restarts Gulf Flights

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed services to the Gulf region on Tuesday after a short suspension caused by the closure of nearby airspace. The temporary halt came after missile strikes by Iran on an American base in Qatar led to the brief shutdown of air corridors over the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and other Gulf countries.

A PIA spokesperson stated, “The security and wellbeing of our passengers is our top concern. We sincerely apologize for the disruption, but these measures are necessary given the current situation.” The airline had assured its customers that services would resume promptly once the airspace was reopened.

Reports indicate that flights across major airports—Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad—were delayed by between 4 and 13 hours, affecting a total of 55 journeys to various Gulf destinations.

Adding to the day’s events, a PIA pilot recorded a video capturing Iran launching ballistic missiles toward Israel. The footage, shared on social media, was taken while flight PK-168 was passing over Saudi airspace near Dammam.

The incident unfolded amidst an intensifying military confrontation between Israel and Iran. Both sides have recently engaged in repeated aerial strikes, with Israel targeting Iranian assets and Iran responding with drone and missile attacks aimed at critical economic and strategic facilities.
